Ellie has a PURPOSE!
We found out when I was 12 weeks pregnant that Ellie had a 95% chance of having Down Syndrome. We were honestly shocked and disappointed, as we had only done the blood test to confirm gender. We declined any further testing that would have been able to be 100% guaranteed during pregnancy because the results weren't going to change anything, and the testing would have been risky.
We struggled throughout the pregnancy, as most parents would, and we prayed hard. There were so many appointments where doctors told us she would not make it, or she could be delivered stillbirth. So we prayed more! And wow, God sure had other plans for her and us!All of the worry went away when we laid our eyes on her almond-shaped eyes for the first time. She was meant and made to be ours. We wouldn't change a single thing about Ellie. God chose the perfect amount of chromosomes. Everything about her is simply perfect. And she's beautiful! She had open heart surgery at five months old and has been full of energy ever since! We thank God for her every day! All this to say- when we got requested to have Ellie represent Handpicked and Chosen, it was an easy yes for us! She is the perfect representation. She was Handpicked and Chosen by God for us, and we are so happy to be a part of The Lucky Few!!
